Things to Do & See

Although Southport is renowned for golf, the city of Liverpool is more renowned for its cultural history, tradition, football architecture, and of course The Beatles. Liverpool is easily accessible from Southport both by car and train (trains run every 15 minutes from the main Southport Train Station) and has a wealth of visitor attractions to suit all tastes from the culture lover to the football fan and Beatles fan.

Martin Mere Wildlife Trust Nr. Southport

If any of our visitors are birdwatchers this attraction is definitely worth a visit on any of your days off from golfing. Over 300 species of birds have been known to frequent the area and it is the largest wetland conservation charity in the UK.

Southport Air Show

150,000 people pour into Southport every September for this event, which uses the beach and promenade as a backdrop for an impressive display of various civilian and military aircraft. The display is very spectacular and is a must visit for all aviation enthusiasts.

The Lake District
