Welcome to Golf Southport
Golf Southport is delighted
to offer the opportunity of unforgettable golfing holidays
in Southport. Long renowned as "England's golf
coast" Southport Golf is famous throughout
the world for the quality of its courses which range from
serious Championship courses to testing municipals. Perhaps
the most famous of the golf courses in Southport is Royal
Birkdale which has long been a venue for hosting the
British Open Golf Championship. Another very notable point
of interest is that within easy driving range of Southport
you will be able to tee off on two other British Open Championship
Courses i.e. Royal
Liverpool and Royal
Lytham St. Annes.
Golf Southport can also highly
recommend the other superb golf courses in Southport. Although
maybe not as famous as their illustrious Royal Neighbour they
are all British Open Qualifiers and highly regarded in their
own right. Hillside
Golf Club situated adjacent to Royal
Birkdale, is a testing mixture of links and parkland and
has often been described as one of the best courses in the
UK never to have hosted an Open Championship.
Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club (locally
known as S&A) is across the Railway Line from Hillside
Golf Club, again, an Open Qualifier and a serious test
of golf for all levels of handicaps. Two other courses well
worthy of mention are Hesketh
Golf Club and The
Old Links Golf Club. Both these courses may not be as
famous as the "big three" previously mentioned but
they are without a doubt well worth playing as part of your
total golf holiday packages to Southport.
Southport is known as "England's golf coast"
because of the quality of golf courses all within
easy reach of this lovely town. All along the Railway Line
from Southport to Liverpool lie some of the finest golfing
links in the UK. Within less than 30 minutes you can be playing
renowned Championship courses like Formby
Golf Club, West
Lancs Golf Club and Formby
Hall Golf Resort and Spa.
Golf Southport can of course
organise if required any golfing trips to Liverpool as this
famous city is only a 40 minute drive from Southport and trains
run every 15 minutes from Southport into Liverpool City Centre
with a journey time of approximately 45 minutes. You may want
to visit Liverpool to play golf or just to take a tour round
the many fascinating sights of the culture and heritage of
this fascinating city. Liverpool of course has many attractions
for the avid Beatles fan including the Beatles
Museum and the Hard Day's Night Hotel.
